Refund policy
MODULR Warranty, Returns & Order Policy
Our Promise
MODULR systems are designed and built in small batches with care. Many of our systems are built to order for specific vehicle configurations, and occasionally a custom setup may require additional fitment adjustments.
If something isn’t right, reach out. We’ll work with you to understand the issue and find a fair, practical solution.
Limited 1-year Warranty
All MODULR products include a Limited 1-Year Warranty beginning on the date of delivery.
What’s Covered
Our warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal, intended use.
If a covered issue occurs, we’ll evaluate the problem and determine the best solution. Depending on the situation, this may include:
- Troubleshooting or adjustment
- Repairing the affected component
- Providing replacement hardware or components
- Modifying or rebuilding an affected component
- Replacing the affected product
MODULR must be given a reasonable opportunity to diagnose and correct an issue before a return or refund is considered.
If an issue affects only part of a system, we may repair, rebuild, modify, or replace the affected component rather than replacing or accepting return of the entire system.
What’s Not Covered
The warranty does not cover problems caused by:
- Improper installation or assembly
- Failure to follow installation instructions
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper storage
- Overloading or improper load distribution
- Accidents, impacts, collisions, or off-road damage
- Water, fire, chemicals, or other environmental damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic wear or minor cosmetic variations that do not affect function
- Modifications or repairs that cause or contribute to the problem
- Changes made to the vehicle after the product was ordered
- Inaccurate or incomplete vehicle information provided at the time of ordering
- Undisclosed aftermarket equipment or accessories that interfere with installation or fitment
Vehicle Fitment & Custom Configurations
Many MODULR systems are designed around specific vehicle configurations.
When ordering, customers are responsible for providing accurate information about their vehicle and any equipment that could affect fitment. This may include:
- Year, make, model, and trim
- Seating and cargo-area configuration
- Factory options
- Subwoofers and audio equipment
- Cargo barriers or partitions
- Aftermarket accessories
- Interior modifications
- Other equipment located near the installation area
Photos are extremely helpful, but they may not reveal every dimensional difference between vehicles or aftermarket components. A system that fits another vehicle with a seemingly similar setup does not necessarily guarantee identical fitment.
If MODULR makes a fitment error based on accurate information provided by the customer, we’ll work with the customer to correct it.
Depending on the issue, this may involve an adjustment, modification, repair, replacement component, or rebuilding an affected component.
A correctable fitment issue does not automatically require return or replacement of the complete system.
Fitment & Warranty Resolution
Custom vehicle products occasionally require troubleshooting to determine exactly where an issue is occurring.
We may request reasonable information such as:
- Photos or videos
- Measurements
- Vehicle or equipment information
- Confirmation of installation steps
- Inspection of specific areas or components
This information allows us to determine the correct solution rather than guessing or unnecessarily replacing parts.
Customer Cooperation
We ask customers to reasonably participate in the troubleshooting process so we can resolve issues as quickly as possible.
Resolution timelines may be affected when we’re waiting for requested photos, measurements, vehicle access, returned components, or other information needed to diagnose the problem.
Once we have the information or components necessary to determine the appropriate solution, we’ll work to move the resolution forward as quickly as reasonably possible.
Customers are never required to perform repairs or modifications they are not comfortable performing.
Authorized Adjustments & Modifications
Occasionally, a minor adjustment may be the quickest and simplest way to resolve a fitment issue.
MODULR may provide instructions, measurements, templates, replacement components, or other guidance for an optional customer- or installer-performed adjustment.
If you’re not comfortable performing an adjustment yourself, let us know. Depending on the situation, the affected component may instead be returned to MODULR for modification, repair, or replacement.
If an authorized modification does not resolve the original issue, contact us before making additional changes so we can determine the next step.
Unauthorized modifications are not automatically excluded from warranty coverage. However, damage or problems caused by an improperly performed or unrelated modification are not covered.
Product Variations
We’re continuously improving our products.
Minor variations in materials, hardware, finishes, manufacturing methods, dimensions, or design details may occur between production runs and may differ slightly from product photos or previous versions.
These variations are normal and are not considered defects when they do not materially affect the product’s intended function.
Production & Shipping Timelines
Unless specifically stated otherwise, MODULR production and lead times are estimates rather than guaranteed completion or delivery dates.
Production time refers to the time required to manufacture and prepare an order for shipment.
Shipping/transit time is separate from production time and is not included in our stated production lead times.
Material availability, supplier delays, quality-control considerations, equipment issues, design requirements, carrier delays, weather, and other unexpected circumstances may occasionally affect timelines.
We’ll make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays and complete orders as quickly as possible without sacrificing product quality.
A production or shipping delay does not by itself constitute a product defect.
We recommend avoiding scheduling installations, trips, or other time-sensitive plans that depend on an estimated production or delivery date until the product has arrived and fitment has been confirmed.
Order Cancellations
All MODULR systems are built to order.
Orders canceled before production begins are eligible for a full refund.
Once production has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible because materials, labor, fabrication time, and other resources may already have been committed to the order.
If we’re able to stop production and approve a cancellation after work has begun, reasonable costs already incurred may be deducted from the refund.
Custom or specially configured products may become final sale once production begins.
Returns
Change-of-Mind Returns
Eligible standard products may be returned within 14 calendar days of delivery when they are:
- Unused
- Uninstalled
- Unassembled
- Unmodified
- Complete
- Returned in their original packaging and in resalable condition
Customers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Original shipping and expedited-production charges are non-refundable except where specifically stated in this policy.
Returns must be authorized by MODULR before being shipped back.
Custom & Made-to-Order Products
Custom-built, modified, specially configured, and customer-specific products are final sale and are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
If a custom product has a defect or fitment issue, we’ll work with you through the warranty and fitment-resolution process.
When an issue can reasonably be corrected through adjustment, repair, modification, rebuilding, or replacement of an affected component, MODULR may provide that solution rather than accepting return of the complete system.
Shipping Damage
We take great care when packaging orders for shipment.
If your order arrives with apparent shipping damage, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery.
Please keep the original packaging and provide:
- Photos of the damaged product
- Photos of the shipping box and packaging
- Photos of the shipping label
- Any other information reasonably needed for the shipping claim
Please don’t discard the packaging until the claim has been resolved, as the shipping carrier may request an inspection.
We’ll work with you and the carrier to evaluate the damage and determine the appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement components, product replacement, or another appropriate resolution.
Prompt reporting and documentation help us resolve shipping claims much more quickly.
Expedited Production Fee
The expedited production fee provides priority placement in our production queue and is based on an estimated expedited production window of 14–21 days unless otherwise stated when ordering.
Expedited production affects production priority only and does not guarantee a specific delivery date.
Shipping/transit time is separate from production time.
If production is completed:
- Within the estimated expedited production window, the expedited fee is non-refundable.
- 7 or more days beyond the estimated window, we’ll refund 50% of the expedited production fee.
- 14 or more days beyond the estimated window, we’ll refund 100% of the expedited production fee.
Refunding an expedited production fee does not constitute a refund of the product purchase price.
Additional Expenses & Trip Planning
We know many customers purchase MODULR products specifically for travel, camping, overlanding, and upcoming adventures.
While we’ll always work hard to meet estimated timelines and resolve issues quickly, MODULR cannot cover expenses or losses resulting from production delays, carrier delays, installation or fitment issues, or temporary inability to use a product.
This includes expenses associated with things such as:
- Trips or travel plans
- Camping or lodging
- Vehicle detailing
- Rental vehicles or alternative transportation
- Temporary storage solutions
- Third-party installation or removal
- Missed work
- Loss of vehicle use
- Personal property
- Other related out-of-pocket expenses
For this reason, we strongly recommend receiving, inspecting, and confirming fitment of your system before making plans that depend on having it installed.
How We Resolve Covered Issues
Our goal is simple: if there’s a legitimate problem with something we built, we want to get it corrected.
Depending on the issue, the appropriate solution may be adjustment, repair, modification, replacement components, rebuilding an affected component, or product replacement.
MODULR will determine the appropriate resolution based on the nature of the issue and what is reasonably necessary to restore proper function.
A refund is not automatically required simply because a product requires fitment correction or warranty service.
Contact Us
If you experience a problem with your MODULR product, contact us with your order information and a description of what’s happening.
Providing photos, videos, measurements, and other relevant information upfront can help us diagnose the issue much faster.
Please contact MODULR and receive return instructions before sending any product or component back to us.
Tie Down & Cargo Use
MODULR systems may include optional or integrated tie-down points intended for general gear organization and light-duty stabilization during normal driving.
Tie-down points are not safety devices, are not crash-rated, and are not intended to restrain cargo or occupants during sudden stops or collisions.
MODULAR does not certify tie-down performance for accident scenarios. Customers are responsible for securing cargo in accordance with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. Third-party straps or hardware are not supplied or warranted by MODULR.
Safety & Intended Use
MODULR products are intended solely for cargo storage and organization. They are not safety devices, are not crash-rated, and are not designed to protect occupants or prevent injury. Loads must be evenly distributed and remain within recommended weight limits. Standing, sitting, or sleeping on the system is prohibited. Improper installation, misuse, or overloading may result in damage, failure, or injury and voids the warranty. DIY installation is performed at the customer’s discretion, and all responsibility for safe installation and use rests with the user.
Shipping & Delivery
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. Once a carrier marks an order as delivered, responsibility for loss or theft transfers to the customer. Signature confirmation is available upon request prior to shipping.
Acceptance of Terms
Installation and use of any MODULR product constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit rights provided by applicable consumer protection laws.
